It turns out that US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) isn’t the only elected official who may have crossed the legal line when it comes to aiding criminal illegal immigrants.
Georgia State Representative Gabriel Sanchez (HD-42), a Democrat Socialist, has also been caught actively instructing criminal illegal immigrants on how to evade immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – an action that could land him in serious legal trouble, just as AOC now faces potential scrutiny for her similar actions.
On Monday, border czar Tom “The Hammer” Homan, speaking to FOX news, indicated that AOC’s recent anti-ICE webinar, intended to help illegal aliens evade detention and repatriation by Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) may be illegal.
Homan warned AOC that she is skirting the law by hampering ICE agents from doing their jobs. He has reached out to the Justice Department for clarification about what constitutes an “impediment”, which could be a felony. According to 18 US Code 1071, this would apply to anyone who would conceal, shield, harbor an illegal immigrant, OR anyone who would encourage illegal immigrants from being deported.*
Sanchez has also been using his social media accounts to offer step-by-step instructions on how illegal immigrants can evade ICE officials and avoid deportation. Even more troubling, Sanchez engaged in this activity while allegedly wearing his official Georgia House of Representatives badge as seen in the video below, further cementing the fact that he was acting in his capacity as an elected official.
This distinction is crucial. Not only was he promoting potential illegal activity, but he was allegedly doing so under the authority of his elected office, raising the possibility of additional ethics violations and legal repercussions at both the state and federal levels.

If AOC is in legal jeopardy, then Sanchez should be, too.
By advising illegal immigrants on how to evade ICE, Sanchez and AOC aren’t just making political statements—they are actively obstructing federal law enforcement. These actions undermine the rule of law and put American communities at risk.
Immigration enforcement is a crucial part of national security, ensuring that individuals who break immigration laws do not pose additional threats to public safety. Instead of working to enforce the law or craft responsible immigration reform, lawmakers like Sanchez and AOC are choosing to aid and abet illegal immigration—directly interfering with law enforcement efforts.
If the DOJ investigates AOC for her actions, then they must also look into Gabriel Sanchez. The law must be applied equally, regardless of whether the offender is a freshman state legislator or a high-profile congresswoman.
Will Sanchez Face Consequences?
While AOC’s case has gained national attention, Sanchez has largely flown under the radar—until now. Given the similarities between their actions, Sanchez should expect increased scrutiny from both federal and state authorities.
Here’s what could come next:
- DOJ Investigation – If AOC is being examined for potential legal violations, Sanchez should be as well, given his direct involvement in instructing illegal immigrants on how to evade law enforcement.
- Georgia Ethics Complaints – Sanchez misused his official position to promote unlawful activity. His actions could lead to ethics violations at the state level, potentially resulting in censure, fines, or other disciplinary measures.
- State or Federal Charges – If his actions are deemed to be in violation of U.S. immigration law, he could face legal consequences similar to those potentially awaiting AOC.
At a time when Americans overwhelmingly support law enforcement and secure borders, it is critical that public officials are held accountable when they attempt to undermine national security for political gain.
If the DOJ is serious about upholding the law, then both AOC and Sanchez should be investigated—and held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
