On Monday, far-left activists are set to stage protests across multiple U.S. cities, including at the Georgia State Capitol, as part of what they are calling the “Not My President’s Day” demonstrations. Organized by the 50501 Movement, these protests are framed as opposition to the Trump administration but, at their core, represent resistance to policies that promote law and order, government transparency, and community safety.

Who’s Behind the Protests?
The 50501 Movement, short for “50 protests. 50 states. 1 movement,” emerged from social media activism and has quickly aligned itself with radical agendas. The group’s primary grievances include:
- Enforcing existing immigration laws to keep communities safe
- Ensuring government accountability and efficiency
- Reducing federal overreach and prioritizing American citizens
Instead of advocating for policies that protect families, uphold the Constitution, and strengthen national security, 50501 protesters are demanding the reinstatement of divisive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and pushing for an investigation into President Trump’s cabinet selections—particularly those connected to Project 2025, a conservative-led initiative to restore constitutional governance.
A Protest Born on Reddit

The movement started in late January when a Reddit user, Evolved_Fungi, called for nationwide protests. The idea quickly spread across social media, with activists organizing demonstrations in several states. Their first major protest, held on February 5, fell short of expectations, drawing only modest crowds compared to the left-wing protests seen after Trump’s first inauguration in 2017.
Nevertheless, the group claims it held events in 88 cities, where participants called for Trump’s impeachment, attacked efforts to streamline government efficiency, and opposed common-sense policies that prioritize public safety.
What Are They Protesting This Time?
For Monday’s protests, the demands remain unchanged. 50501 activists continue to push for:
- The removal of Elon Musk – Not for any wrongdoing, but simply because he supports government efficiency and transparency in his role at the Department of Government Efficiency.
- Increased government intervention – Instead of reducing bureaucratic waste, they want a return to bloated, unaccountable agencies.
- The expansion of DEI policies – A divisive and costly set of initiatives that have proven to prioritize identity politics over merit and efficiency.
- Investigations into President Trump’s administration – A clear attempt to obstruct conservative governance rather than focusing on policies that benefit all Americans.
One organizer admitted the movement is primarily driven by their opposition to Trump, stating, “We are still very much calling for the removal of Elon Musk. We find it very concerning that there is a non-government official that has the access that he does… and we would like to see the strengthening of anti-discrimination legislation.”
Who’s Supporting the Protests?
According to NPR (yes, that NPR), the 50501 Movement is working with Political Revolution, a radical left-wing group formed after Bernie Sanders’ 2016 campaign. This organization has been involved in radical activism, supporting movements like Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and far-left economic policies.
Although 50501 claims to be nonpartisan, its actions and demands align with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Their online presence is also noteworthy, with over 102,000 Reddit members and an alleged 600,000 Discord followers—though these numbers appear exaggerated and allegedly include bot accounts.
The Bigger Picture
While these activists claim to fight for “justice” and “democracy,” their protests are clearly aimed at opposing policies that strengthen America—policies that:
- Protect communities from crime and illegal immigration
- Reduce government waste and inefficiency
- Restore accountability in public offices
- Prioritize merit over radical ideology
Instead of uniting Americans around common-sense reforms, the 50501 Movement continues to push a divisive, anti-law-and-order agenda that does nothing to improve the lives of everyday citizens.
On Presidents Day, while millions of Americans celebrate our nation’s history and the leaders who have fought to preserve our freedoms, these activists will be in the streets protesting against policies that uphold the very values that keep our country strong.
The question is: Do they truly stand for democracy—or just against those who enforce the law?
